Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced full-time Commercial Project Manager to join our Restoration Team. This position involves the coordination and delivery of the repair phase of restoration projects, including scoping, estimating, scheduling, reporting, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders, and is responsible for efficiently and effectively delivering the highest quality product on time and on budget.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful completion of all sorts of restoration claims, including water and/or fire damage to both residential and commercial properties. The strong relationships you bring/build with home/business owners, adjusters, property managers, and other key players assist you in generating new leads and your knowledge of the restoration/construction industry, skills as an estimator, and knack for sales and relationship building will help you excel in this project management position.

Key Role & Responsibilities

Oversee variable aspects of projects and provide direct assistance to ensure timely project execution

  • Work directly with clients and contractors to implement project goals
  • Assign duties to staff to implement project requirements
  • Perform site inspections to ensure delivery of the highest quality of workmanship
  • Issue work orders to internal and external trades
  • Obtain Building Permits as required
  • Prepare a task schedule of work to be completed
  • Assist with procuring materials and other items necessary for completing project goals
  • Ensure the job schedule is maintained and report any variances
  • Provide weekly updates to the Management Team and Clients
  • Track job costing to ensure budget goals are met
  • Financial administration including the monitoring of project costs, project invoicing and payment approval
  • Cultivate product, systems, safety, and industry knowledge
  • Obtain Certificate of Completion
  • Scope Writing/Estimating
  • Assess required repairs after mitigation and demolition phase is complete
  • Prepare a detailed scope of required repair work
  • Assist Project Manager with repair estimates
  • Be aware of all aspects of scopes of work

Deliver impeccable customer service to all Customers and Clients

  • Effectively communicate with property owners/managers/tenants, subcontractors, etc.
  • Develop trusted relationships with our clients (property managers, strata council members, inspectors, etc.)
  • Liaise with Senior Management to maintain project schedule and efficacy
  • Review project implementation and gather data on project execution
  • Coordinate with clients and other project leads following project execution
  • As necessary resolve disputes and complaints cheerfully and in a professional manner

Growth and Development

  • Identify and prospect potential clients through various channels, such as cold calling, networking events, referrals, and online leads
  • Build and maintain a client base by cultivating relationships and understanding industry needs
  • Manage and nurture existing client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for growth
  • Leverage existing client portfolios to generate referrals and new business opportunities
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the client base
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of leads for potential business opportunities
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, customers, or partners
  • Identify partnerships with other businesses or organizations that can result in mutual benefits
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to potential clients or partners
  • Clearly articulate the value proposition of the company's products or services
  • Create and customize proposals for potential clients, outlining the benefits and terms of partnership or collaboration
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure proposals align with operational capabilities
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with clients, customers, or partners.
  • Close deals and finalize contracts, ensuring that all parties are satisfied with the terms
  • Develop and implement strategies to enter new markets or expand the company's reach within existing markets.
  • Explore opportunities business expansion
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to build relationships and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Represent the company professionally and create a positive brand image.
  • Gather feedback from clients, customers, and partners to continually improve products, services, or business processes.
  • Analyze the success and shortcomings of business development strategies and adjust accordingly.
  • Communicate effectively across different teams to align goals and objectives.
  • Ensure that all business development activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Provide regular reports to management on business development activities, including key performance indicators, successes, and challenges
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies relevant to the business.

Must Haves

  • Minimum of 8 years restoration or construction experience
  • Knowledge of construction processes and procedures
  • Previous experience in building maintenance and/or residential construction
  • Knowledge of the BC Building Code
  • Understanding of building systems, construction practices, processes and techniques
  • Knowledge of WorkSafe BC Regulations
  • Project management experience
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Very Strong Math skills
  • Very Strong Xactimate skills
  • Experience leading multi-unit loss projects
  • Experience leading Category Level 1, 2 and 3 water damage projects
  • Experience planning and monitoring budgets
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent in English, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability and desire to work collaboratively to ensure successful project execution
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a passion for ensuring projects proceed efficiently and effectively
  • Valid BC Drivers License with clean abstract required
  • IICRC Certifications an asset
  • Building Technology or related ITA training an asset
  • Management or Supervisor experience an asset

Working Conditions

  • This role works primarily out of our Head Office in Surrey, BC
  • Your time will be spent on job sites throughout the Lower Mainland and in the office

Work Type, Schedule, and Location

The Project Manager works closely with the CEO and other members of the management team and will be able to count on a supportive team to meet Company objectives.

The incumbent will work regular business hours. However, the nature of this role will require after-hours call availability, weekend call availability and occasional in- person/zoom client meetings. The incumbent will have independence to adjust their schedule accordingly.

Salary:$90,000++ Commensurate with experience, increasing based on project success and business growth
