Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Direct Support Worker (DSW) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing care to individuals in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings. This role is essential in supporting individuals with disabilities, seniors, and those requiring specialized care, including dementia and hospice care. As a Certified DSW, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized support and assistance.
Duties
- Provide direct personal care to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition is maintained.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor client health conditions.
- Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary to ensure client safety.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health to the supervising nurse or manager.
- Foster positive relationships with clients while respecting their dignity and privacy.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Direct Support Worker is required.
- Previous experience in assisted living, senior care, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Experience in caregiving or nursing is advantageous.
