Row 188 is the flagship restaurant of O'Rourke Family Estate—Canada's most anticipated winery project. Overlooking Okanagan Lake and our 1,200-seat amphitheater, Row 188 offers a refined dining experience that showcases seasonal cuisine, estate-grown wines, and world-class hospitality. Position Overview

The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests at Row 188. This role sets the tone for the dining experience by providing a warm welcome, managing reservations, and ensuring seamless guest flow throughout service. Professionalism, attentiveness, and grace under pressure are essential to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and ensure they feel welcomed.
  • Manage reservations and seating to optimize flow and maximize guest experience.
  • Communicate effectively with the FOH team regarding table status and guest needs.
  • Maintain the appearance and organization of the entrance and reception area.
  • Anticipate guest requirements, including special requests, VIPs, or large parties.
  • Assist in maintaining guest records and preferences for personalized service.
  • Support the service team with guest inquiries and basic floor support when required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a host/hostess or guest services role preferred, ideally in fine dining or luxury hospitality.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a polished, professional presence.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a high-volume environment.
  • Knowledge of reservation systems and POS software an asset.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Wage - $17.85-$18.85 plus gratuities
