Position: Manufacturing Engineer

Department: Manufacturing Engineering

Main function:

Develop, implement, improve and maintain effective manufacturing processes and assembly methods and provide front-line support to the various departments at Morgan Schaffer.

Main tasks


• Develop and maintain efficient manufacturing and verification processes, methods with clear acceptance criteria.


• Evaluate the processes efficiency, monitor their evolution, define reaction protocols and take actions on deviations.


• Participate in writing and improving assembly instructions.


• Monitor key performance indicators and customer complaints and act to improve them.


• Design, implement, maintain tools, jigs and production infrastructure, as well as test benches.


• Provide front-line support for production and quality control.


• Conduct and document technical investigations on in-house products and on RMA.


• Manage measuring instruments and calibration tools used for quality control purposes.

  • Manage the maintenance and calibration program for verification and calibration instruments.
  • Manage the building maintenance (supervision of maintenance work)
  • Identify, manage, document and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement projects.

Academic requirements:


• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Automated Production or Mechanical Engineering.


• Member of the 'Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec'.


• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment within a Manufacturing Engineering team with a strong hands-on approach (production support).


• Strong knowledge of the MS Office Suite and SolidWorks.


• Lean 6-Sigma knowledge and ISO 9001; green belt an asset.


• Bilingual (French - English).
