About the Opportunity

Support Ontario Youth (SOY) is proud to partner with Safeguard Electric, a trusted electrical contractor delivering quality residential and commercial work. Together, we are seeking a motivated and dedicated Electrical Apprentice to join their growing team in Ottawa. This position is ideal for a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year apprentice looking to advance their career with a supportive employer.

Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Apply electrical codes and safety standards on all projects
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues efficiently
  • Work with voltage systems, hand tools, and power tools
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
  • 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year apprentice
  • Residential & light commercial electrical, standby generator installs/service (Cummins), EVSE, service upgrades, troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must have valid G driver's license and reliable vehicle required
