HIL Engineering Manager

This role focuses on growing and developing our HIL testing capabilities as both the technical lead and through managing a small team of HIL test engineers. This candidate's team will design and implement HIL systems that enable seamless integration and validation of embedded software and hardware. You will collaborate with Machine Integration, Controls, and V&V teams to ensure our HIL platforms are flexible, reliable, and future-ready. Your expertise in communication protocols, signal simulation, and test automation will help accelerate prototyping and validation.
Your Impact
- Build and manage a team of engineers to design, develop, and maintain HIL test systems for autonomous agriculture applications across embedded, ROS, application, and system levels
- Collaborate with software developers, hardware engineers, and the V&V team to ensure HIL systems meet integration and validation needs
- Set up and maintain automated testing pipelines to support continuous integration and rapid prototyping
- Develop and maintain documentation and best practices for HIL infrastructure to ensure consistency and scalability
- Support the creation and refinement of test fixtures for reliable signal simulation and protocol integration
Your Experience And Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with minimum 5 years of experience in HIL testing across the full validation stack, from embedded systems through high-level integration to final system-level testing, experience in leading a highly technical team and guiding the career development of employees
- Proficiency in CAN BUS, LIN, and familiarity with J1939
- Strong understanding of analog and digital signal testing. Experience with test automation and regression testing frameworks
- Solid programming skills in C, C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink. Experience with Git, Jira, and Jenkins in a CI/CD environment
- Familiarity with Linux systems, including networking protocols like TCP/UDP. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
