About this opportunity:

As the Student Intern, SCM Data Scientist, you will be joining a team that embraces data and technology to develop advanced and innovative solutions. The team works with the Strategic Sourcing and Source to Contract organizations. In this role, you will engage with cross functional business partners and facilitate building data pipelines and analytics projects.

Preferred Skills:

  • Microsoft Azure cloud services: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks

  • Google Cloud Platform: BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and other services.

  • Power BI platforms

  • Python

  • Relational SQL databases

  • Auto ML tools

  • Machine Learning algorithms

  • The ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new languages, tools, frameworks.

  • General knowledge of the supply chain is considered an asset.

Activities:

  • Support ongoing data projects for Cost Productivity, Price Productivity, and First Quote Competitiveness.

  • Data Pipeline: Gather required data, organize and manage the data, clean and prepare for modelling.

  • Data Analysis: Support and maintain Machine Learning Models for consumption by Business users.

  • Story Telling: Develop dashboards and recurring reports to translate data & information into insight.

  • Dedication to ensuring your work is well documented and version controlled.

Physical Demands, duties of this position are varied and will include:

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.

  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Education: Currently enrolled in a University Internship program completing 3rd year of a 4-year or 4th year of a 5-year in one of the following programs: Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning and/or Supply Chain Management knowledge considered an asset.
