Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Machine Apprentice to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the manufacturing and maintenance sectors. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of experienced technicians, learning essential skills in machine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting within a dynamic industrial environment.

Duties

  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Learn to troubleshoot and repair programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automated systems.
  • Support the implementation of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities.
  • Gain experience in industrial electrical work, including low voltage systems.
  • Participate in HVAC system maintenance and repairs.
  • Assist with welding tasks as needed, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Learn to read and interpret schematics for electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections of machinery to identify potential issues before they escalate.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient production processes and high-quality output.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with internal teams or external clients.

Qualifications

  • Basic mechanical knowledge with a strong interest in industrial maintenance and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems; prior electrical experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of HVAC systems is desirable.
  • Experience or coursework related to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to analyze problems effectively and propose solutions.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • A commitment to safety practices within an industrial setting.
