Position Summary

As an Injection Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient experiences and supporting clinical procedures such as ultrasound-guided injections and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy. You'll collaborate with physicians and clinical staff, maintain high standards of infection control, and contribute to a positive, team-oriented clinic culture. Duties and Responsibilities

Patient Care & Experience

  • Deliver clear instructions and empathetic communication to ensure patient comfort and safety before, during, and after procedures

  • Ensure every patient leaves feeling welcomed, reassured, and impressed by the quality of care

Clinical Support & Procedures

  • Prepare and assist with ultrasound-guided injections, blood draws, centrifugation, and setup of materials/equipment

  • Draw up and prepare injectates according to physician preferences

  • Act as a clinical assistant during procedures, ensuring smooth execution and adherence to safety protocols

Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, maintaining consistent communication with physicians and staff

  • Support a positive clinic culture through teamwork, mutual respect, and shared accountability

  • Participate in team huddles, training sessions, and feedback loops

Documentation & Professional Standards

  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in managing patient information and documentation

  • Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and transfer of clinical knowledge within the IPAC program

  • Ensure timely and compliant documentation

Clinic Operations & Environment

  • Organize supplies, maintain inventory, and ensure treatment rooms are well-stocked, clean, and compliant with protocols

  • Follow established workflows for patient intake, treatment preparation, and post-procedure follow-up

  • Suggest improvements to clinic processes for a safe, efficient, and high-performing environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Knowledge

  • Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) policies

Skills

  • Professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in patient interactions

  • Precision in preparing injection materials and injectates

  • Clinical procedures including venipuncture and centrifugation

  • Proficiency with EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and accurate data entry

  • Understanding of IPAC principles and aseptic techniques

Qualifications

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

  • Two to three years' related experience in a medical clinic or healthcare setting (asset)

  • Experience with phlebotomy and the ability to perform blood draws independently an asset

  • Experience in customer service (asset)

  • Experience with Telus CHR EMR (asset)

  • Ability to perform venipuncture (asset)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) provider certification and yearly renewal

  • Current registration with professional regulatory body

  • Proof of current Criminal Record Check
