Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our dynamic family oriented ophthalmology team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing exceptional support to both patients and healthcare professionals. This position requires proficiency in medical terminology and experience with electronic medical records, as well as strong administrative skills.

Duties

  • Greet patients and manage front desk operations, ensuring a welcoming environment.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records system ACCURO.
  • Handle multi-line phone systems to answer calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately.
  • Assist with billing and coding tasks as needed, utilizing knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient office operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the office space.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems (ACCURO) is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and administrative processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in handling multi-line phone systems and general office equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
