Intermediate Structural Engineer
with expertise in
masonry, building science, and structural design
. This is an exciting opportunity for engineers who are looking to step outside traditional consulting and make a national impact through design education, industry guidance, and code advocacy.

About the Role

In this full-time, in-person position based in
Vancouver
, you will play a leading role in the advancement of
masonry construction across Canada
. Your day-to-day will combine technical support, professional development, stakeholder engagement, and contributions to design standards.

You'll work closely with contractors, engineers, and architects—offering hands-on support while helping shape future training programs, building codes, and software tools for structural analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a
    technical resource
    for contractors, architects, and engineers across BC
  • Deliver
    technical presentations and seminars
    to professionals and stakeholders
  • Provide support on structural design challenges and masonry-related questions
  • Contribute to the
    development of guides, standards, and software
  • Collaborate with local universities and institutions on
    research and training
  • Attend industry events and stay connected with local project partners

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
    in Civil, Structural, or Building Science Engineering
  • 3+ years
    of experience in structural design or construction, ideally with masonry focus
  • Registered
    EIT in British Columbia
    (required); P.Eng. preferred
  • Strong communicator with
    experience delivering technical content
  • Familiar with
    CSA S304, A371, NBCC
    , and structural software (e.g., SAP2000, RAM, STAAD, S-Frame)
  • Independent and proactive, with
    strong project coordination skills
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to sites and industry events

Offer & Work Conditions

  • Salary
    : $85,000–$105,000 (based on experience)
  • Hours
    : 37.5 hrs/week, no overtime expected
