Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Helpdesk Technician to provide technical support and assistance to our clients and internal teams. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining network connectivity, and ensuring seamless operation of IT systems across various platforms including Windows, macOS, and Linux. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach to deliver exceptional service. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with exposure to a wide range of IT support tasks and tools.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for desktop, laptop, and mobile devices across multiple operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Troubleshoot software issues including Microsoft Office applications, operating system errors, and application-specific problems.
- Resolve hardware problems related to computer components, peripherals, and network equipment.
- Manage and support computer networking issues including LAN configurations, firewall settings, VPN connections, and wireless connectivity.
- Utilize ticketing systems like ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy to document incidents, track progress, and ensure timely resolution.
- Assist users with operating system installations, updates, and configurations.
- Support network security measures by configuring firewalls and VPNs to ensure data protection.
- Collaborate with team members to escalate complex issues and ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication.
- Maintain knowledge of current technology trends and best practices in IT support.
Skills
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with computer hardware components and peripherals.
- Strong understanding of computer networking concepts such as LAN setup, firewall configuration, VPN access, and wireless networks.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems including ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy for incident management.
- Knowledge of software troubleshooting techniques for common applications like Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to support desktop environments via remote tools or on-site visits.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively assist users with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Experience with operating system deployment and updates.
