Weekend Milker

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Milker to join our agricultural team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient and humane milking of dairy animals, ensuring the highest standards of animal care and product quality. This role requires a strong understanding of farm operations, including the use of various tools and equipment.

Duties

• Perform milking duties using both manual and automated systems to ensure optimal milk production.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of milking equipment and facilities.
• Monitor the health and well-being of dairy animals, reporting any concerns to management.
• Assist in the operation and maintenance of farm machinery, including tractors and other heavy equipment.
• Implement irrigation practices as needed to support feed crops.
• Conduct routine maintenance on equipment using hand tools and power tools.
• Engage in heavy lifting tasks as required for moving feed, supplies, or equipment.
• Keep accurate records related to milking schedules, animal health, and production metrics.

Skills

• Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair milking machines and farm machinery.
• Familiarity with irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of crops.
• Understanding of horticulture principles related to feed crop management.
• Experience with maintenance tasks involving both hand tools and power tools.
• Basic math skills for record keeping and measuring feed or supplies.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
