Position Overview:

A Snow Shoveler is responsible for the timely and efficient removal of snow and ice from designated areas, ensuring safe and accessible pathways for pedestrians and vehicles. This role is physically demanding and requires attention to detail, resilience, and the ability to work in cold and challenging weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Snow Removal: Clear snow from sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, stairs, and other assigned areas using shovels, snow blowers, or other equipment.
  • Ice Management: Apply salt, sand, or ice melt to prevent slippery surfaces and ensure safety.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean tools and equipment after use to ensure they remain in good working condition.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate clothing and gear to protect against cold and hazards.
  • Timely Response: Be available on-call during snow events, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and prolonged exposure to cold weather.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Experience with snow removal equipment (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Work Environment:

  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures.
  • Flexible hours based on snowfall and weather patterns.

Compensation:

  • Hourly wage or per-job rate, depending on the employer.
  • Potential for additional pay for emergency or overnight shifts.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy physical work, are dependable, and thrive in outdoor environments.
