Responsibilities
The Senior Information Architect will:
Architecture Leadership & Delivery
- Lead the creation, update, and validation of high-level information architecture models, artefacts, and documentation.
- Provide guidance to project teams and SMEs on architecture processes, modelling, documentation, and planning.
- Facilitate requirement-gathering workshops, architecture working sessions, and validation meetings.
Modelling & Documentation
- Develop or update conceptual, logical, physical data models, resource types, and information integration requirements.
- Leverage existing Ministry business and information architecture artefacts and align them within LRC/OPS architecture standards.
- Use OPS/cluster/ministry tools such as PowerDesigner or Rational System Architect.
- Develop business requirements artefacts as required.
Governance, Standards & Alignment
- Ensure compliance with OPS GO-ITS Standards, including 56.0, 56.1, 56.3.
- Support Agile Enterprise Architecture delivery processes.
- Prepare for and participate in EA governance reviews (cluster and corporate ARB).
- Integrate OPS Reference Architectures into architectural deliverables.
Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer
- Work closely with project architects (Information, Solution, Enterprise), product managers, SMEs, and technical teams.
- Provide regular status updates to both the project team and the EA unit.
- Perform ongoing knowledge transfer and documentation handover.
- Participate in co-location work sessions as required.
Required Skills & Experience (Must Haves)
- Demonstrated experience leading in-depth and complex information architecture reviews and assessments, supporting new/changing enterprise priorities and client cluster needs.
- Demonstrated experience defining, identifying, and describing information architectural requirements with clients and obtaining I&IT management approval.
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise architecture, including integration of IA with other EA domains, Agile EA delivery, and working with CASE/EA/BPMN modelling tools (e.g., PowerDesigner).
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Information Architecture roles.
Nice to Have
- Experience working within the Ontario Public Service (OPS) Enterprise Architecture Framework, including governance processes and ARB approval requirements.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: From $75.00 per hour
