Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Brex Full time $172,000 - $204,250 per year

FINANCE

The Finance team is a strategic engine at Brex. We lead planning, forecasting, investor relations, and corporate development — partnering across the business to drive clarity and unlock opportunity. We partner across teams at Brex to ensure our business is building and planning with the same dream big goals throughout our entire organization. We're not here to report on outcomes; we shape them. If you want to influence company direction and think long-term about value creation, this is where your ownership starts.

What you'll do

You'll own Brex's procurement strategy — designing and leading a scalable approach to sourcing, vendor management, and spend optimization that drives measurable impact across the business. You'll negotiate contracts, unlock cost savings, and streamline approvals and processes to make it easier and faster for teams to access the tools and services they need, all while maintaining compliance and financial discipline. In this role, you'll partner closely with Finance, Legal, Security, and functional leaders to ensure procurement decisions align with company goals and priorities. You'll also build visibility and accountability by implementing reporting, analytics, and best practices that help teams understand the "why" behind every purchase. Finally, you'll play a key role in company-wide planning by contributing directly to budget management and the annual operating plan, ensuring investments are both strategic and sustainable.

Where you'll work

This role will be based in one of our Brex offices — San Francisco, New York, or Vancouver. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of two coordinated days in the office per week, Wednesday and Thursday. Starting February 2, 2026, we will require three days per week in office - Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work.

Responsibilites

  • Lead the design and execution of Brex's procurement strategy to deliver cost savings, efficiency, and scalability
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships that optimize value, mitigate risk, and support long-term business goals
  • Drive process improvements in procurement approvals to increase speed, transparency, and compliance across the company
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Security, and functional leaders to align procurement with budget, compliance, and strategic priorities
  • Implement tools, systems, and reporting that provide visibility into spend, trends, and ROI for leadership and stakeholders
  • Guide company-wide budget management and the annual operating plan by ensuring procurement decisions are data-driven and aligned with financial targets
  • Foster a culture of accountability and operational excellence by championing best practices in sourcing and vendor management

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, including leadership of a procurement function
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings, contract improvements, and process efficiencies at scale
  • Strong knowledge of procurement systems, contract negotiation, vendor management, and spend analytics
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build trust across Finance, Legal, Security, and business teams
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to connect procurement decisions to broader financial and business outcomes
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and change management skills to drive alignment and adoption of procurement best practices
  • High level of integrity, judgment, and commitment to operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Bonus Points

  • Experience building a procurement function from the ground up in a fast-growing technology company
  • Familiarity with SaaS, fintech, or technology procurement and vendor ecosystems
  • Expertise in implementing procurement tools, automation, or spend management systems
  • Background in global procurement, including international vendors and compliance considerations
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) that demonstrate advanced procurement expertise

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $172 - $204,250. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
