This includes Aircraft Management, Jet Charter Service, Aircraft Brokerage and Aircraft Finance.

We are looking for a Director, Safety and Quality based at our head office at the Edmonton International Airport.  This is a unique opportunity for the right individual who has a proven track record in continuous improve­ment of safety and quality in an aviation environment. 

Key Responsibilities

Safety

  • Maintain safety management documentation;
  • Maintain the Safety database and reporting system to permit safety appropriate data analysis;
  • Maintain effective safety communication and promotion;
  • Facilitate identified hazard risk assessment and mitigation actions with functional managers and subject matter experts;
  • Ensure all hazards, incidents and accidents identified in the safety database are investigated within defined timelines;
  • Analyze safety data to identify trends in hazards, inci­dents and accidents and provide periodic reports on safety performance;
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk controls;
  • Monitor civil aviation safety notifications in relation to their potential effect on AJP operations;
  • Ensure all personnel assigned duties have received safety appropriate training to conduct their prescribed duties.

Quality Assurance

  • Assist in the development and sustainment of a Flight Operations Quality system;
  • Monitor quality assurance systems and advise executive team on system performance; publish statistics regarding performance against set goals;
  • Perform internal QA audits that are compliant with corporate policies, practices, and procedures;
  • Collaborate with client-facing quality assurance representatives to ensure full customer satisfaction with the company's products and services;
  • Establish and maintain a quality assurance program for monitoring supplier quality, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers;
  • Conduct risk analyses, verification, validation activities, and formal design reviews
  • Promote and advocate quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization;
  • Act as liaison with customer auditors and assume responsibility for ensuring corrective actions with customer specifications;
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation;
  • Create and maintain quality assurance control documentation.

 Qualifications 

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma or equivalent experience in aviation;
  • Current or previous flight crew or AME experience;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report preparation and presentation delivery;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office;
  • Eligible to obtain a Transport Canada Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC);
  • Formal training or extensive experience in investigations including root cause analysis;
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, customer service and team building with the ability to initiate and model positive change;
  • Training as an investigator.
