About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Architecture, the Cybersecurity Enterprise Architect Specialist will define, design, and implement secure enterprise architectures across our IT, OT, and cloud environments. This role will be a strategic advisor, aligning business and cybersecurity objectives, while helping advance Cenovus's cyber maturity and resilience posture. The successful candidate will require deep expertise in security frameworks, understand the latest risk mitigation technologies, zero trust models, identity-first security, and enterprise-scale risk management.

What you'll do:

  • Ensure that enterprise cybersecurity architecture roadmaps reflect current and emerging threats, business priorities, and technology trends.
  • Partner with risk management to assess threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring alignment of architecture with risk mitigation strategies.
  • Drive the adoption of zero trust, identity-first, and cloud security models, defining secure reference architectures across networks, applications, data, and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, OT/IoT).
  • Ensure architectural compliance with regulatory and industry standards, supporting audits, penetration tests, and compliance assessments by providing necessary architectural context.
  • Govern and review security designs across enterprise projects, providing risk-based guidance while establishing and integrating architectural standards, patterns, and controls for IT and OT environments.
  • Provide technical leadership for cybersecurity initiatives, including identifying protection, cloud security, data loss prevention, and threat detection/response.

Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 12 years in enterprise architecture or related roles.
  • TOGAF, Zachman, AWS/Azure Architect, or similar certifications.
