Position Summary

As a Shipper and Receiver, you will perform all day-to-day shipping, receiving, and logistics activities. You'll prepare shipping documentation, manage domestic and international shipments, and ensure all goods are accurately received, inspected, and recorded. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role requiring exceptional organization, accuracy under pressure, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the CTO, Production Manager, Customer Fulfillment Coordinator, Procurement, and Sales teams to prepare and schedule shipments
  • Prepare all related shipping documentation using the company's computer system
  • Physically pick, pack, and prepare shipments for delivery or courier pickup
  • Track in-transit shipments and ensure timely follow-up and resolution of any delivery exceptions
  • Develop, update, and maintain shipping documentation, standard operating procedures, and logistics reference materials
  • Negotiate freight and logistics rates with carriers and manage vendor relationships
  • Maintain and update USMCA blanket certificates; accurately classify and valuate goods for customs
  • Ensure compliance with all customs, legal, and dangerous goods regulations
  • Maintain accurate and updated purchase order and inventory records
  • Communicate with suppliers to resolve issues such as missing or damaged goods
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and damage
  • Lift and move packages (up to 30 lbs) as required
  • Occasionally transport materials using your personal vehicle (expenses reimbursed)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, and traffic coordination
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); comfortable with computer-based applications
  • Experience with QuickBooks and/or Fishbowl software is a strong asset
  • Post-secondary education in Business Operations, Supply Chain, or Commerce is an asset
  • Knowledge of electronic or mechanical components and the ability to verify against a bill of materials is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Must hold a valid Ontario G-class driver's license and insurance (occasional local travel)
