Social Media and Communications Specialist

Hybrid, based out of Toronto

Full-time, Permanent

Opportunity Overview

The Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to problem gambling prevention. For more than 40 years, we have worked to reduce gambling risk by creating and delivering innovative awareness and information programs in Ontario and around the world. We work with priority populations, including youth, young adults, ethnocultural populations, and the public, to educate people on the risks of gambling, how to mitigate those risks, and how to access support. We work with industry, regulators and government to promote the adoption of improved play safeguards through best practices research, knowledge mobilization, standards development, and the RG Check accreditation program.

Why RGC?

Ready to launch your marketing career with real impact? Join RGC and gain invaluable experience working alongside a full marketing team and top-tier creative agencies to develop high-impact campaigns, cutting-edge digital activations, and drive our social footprint. As Social Media and Communications Specialist, you'll drive development of our B2B and B2C social media presence and our digital properties. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Communications & PR, you'll work alongside a passionate team who will mentor you as you develop your skills and build an impressive portfolio.

This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to nationally recognized campaigns that prevent gambling harm and protect communities. You'll play a key role in expanding our digital footprint and creating purpose-driven campaigns that make a real difference—ideal for someone starting their career who wants their work to have meaningful impact. If you're a natural social storyteller, eager to grow your social media and communications skills through meaningful work, and want to drive genuine social change, we want to hear from you

  • Basic experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools
  • Understanding of accessibility best practices for digital content
  • Experience with short-form video content (Reels, Stories, YouTube Shorts)
  • Collaborative and curious mindset, comfortable working across teams and with multiple stakeholders.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and ability to apply these principles in communications work.

RGC celebrates and values cultural diversity and is committed to attracting and retaining a diverse staff. We will honour your experiences, perspectives, and unique identity. Together, our organization strives to create and maintain working environments that are inclusive, equitable, and welcoming.
