Part-Time Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Quran Teacher

Avicenna Academy Islamic School is seeking dedicated and passionate part-time teachers to join our team. Located in Winnipeg South, our school is committed to providing quality education within an Islamic environment. We are looking for candidates with a strong background in Quran recitation, native Arabic language skills, and relevant teaching experience.

Qualifications:

  • Native Arabic speaker with proficiency in Quran recitation.
  • Proven experience in teaching Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Quran.
  • Demonstrated commitment to integrating cultural and moral values into the curriculum.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with educational technology tools and their integration into teaching.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
  • Experience in an Islamic school setting is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes cultural and moral values.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Quran classes.
  • Utilize various teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Foster a positive and respectful atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Assess student progress through various assessments and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and grades.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development activities.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and behavior.
  • Adhere to the school's policies, procedures, and code of conduct.

Job Details:

  • Position: Part-Time
  • Location: Winnipeg, MB
  • Salary: To be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.

Experience:

  • At least 2 year of relevant teaching experience.

License/Certification:

  • Manitoba Teaching License preferred, or in the process of obtaining it.
