Role: Architect - Software Developer 

Experience Level: 8+  years of experience

Work Location: Fredericton, NB or NB  

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Data Architect with strong expertise in C#, NodeJS, and AWS Redshift to design, build, and optimize scalable data architectures. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building modern data platforms, creating efficient data models, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Experience in the EdTech domain will be considered a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing data architectures across multiple environments (on-premises and cloud).

  • Lead data modeling, data integration, and ETL/ELT pipeline design to support analytics and reporting needs.

  • Work with engineering teams to build and optimize data services using C# and NodeJS.

  • Develop and maintain data warehouses and marts using AWS Redshift and related AWS data ecosystem tools.

  • Collaborate closely with product, analytics, and application teams to align data architecture with business objectives.

  • Define and enforce data governance, quality, and security standards.

  • Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting of large-scale data systems.

  • Mentor developers and data engineers in best practices for data infrastructure design and development.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering or data architecture roles.

  • Strong proficiency in C# and NodeJS for data services and integrations.

  • Proven experience with AWS Redshift and the broader AWS data ecosystem (e.g., S3, Glue, Lambda, Athena).

  • Expertise in data modeling, data architecture design, and data pipeline optimization.

  • Solid understanding of relational databases, SQL, and ETL/ELT frameworks.

  • Hands-on experience with data infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to design scalable and maintainable data solutions.

Other Qualifications: 

  • Experience within the EdTech domain or familiarity with education data models and learning analytics.

  • Exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI, QuickSight, or Tableau.

  • Experience with modern data lakes, data mesh, or streaming data pipelines.

  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and privacy compliance (e.g., FERPA, GDPR).
