Employment Location: Hybrid (candidates must be available to work from the Toronto, ON office 2x weekly in order to apply).
Salary: $95, $115,000.00 CAD *This salary range is based on an assessment of the local market and may vary depending on the successful candidate's experience. This range is based on base salary and does not include additional bonus program and total rewards eligibility.Three Ships Beauty is hiring We're looking for an Associate Creative Director to join our team and help shape our visual identity The Associate Creative Director will serve as the creative leader within the marketing team, driving the execution of omni channel concepts and visual campaign assets that convey Three Ships brand stories.
Our ideal team member understands the power consistent art & copy can unlock. They will translate marketing briefs into compelling concepts, deliver iterative creative rounds, review & ideate compelling copy, and support with & assign team members to execute assets. Reporting to our Director of Marketing, the Associate Creative Director will ensure visual consistency across all platforms, from digital campaigns and e-commerce, to paid ads, print, in-store & window displays, reflecting the brand's identity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand & Visual Direction
- Lead Three Ships' overall visual identity and brand expression, building a cohesive visual universe with clear guardrails and maintaining consistency across all creative executions.
- Oversee packaging development for new product launches, refreshes, and seasonal kits.
- Conduct trend research across beauty, wellness, design, and culture to bring forward-looking creative inspiration to the team.
Campaign, Launch Conception & Visual Execution
- Translate business objectives and messaging strategies into compelling campaign concepts, from creative ideation and moodboarding to on-set art direction and final execution.
- Direct campaign and product photoshoots, ensuring high-quality asset delivery that supports overarching brand storytelling.
- Oversee post-production to ensure imagery and assets meet brand standards and campaign goals.
- Lead the internal campaign process end-to-end, including briefing, concepting, moodboarding, and cross-functional alignment on execution with channel owners.
- Lead the weekly internal campaign meeting to align creative direction and execution across teams.
Creative Leadership & Project Management
- Lead, manage, and grow a small creative team, including the development of one (1) senior designer direct report.
- Support creative team with design and execution of marketing and in-store collateral as needed.
- Build and manage efficient creative processes from intake and briefing to delivery, balancing timelines and priorities across stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with external creative partners (freelancers, photographers, videographers, agencies), from hiring and briefing to ensuring all output aligns with brand standards.
Copy
- Maintain and safeguard a consistent brand voice across all communications.
- Write and edit compelling copy that enhances visual storytelling and reinforces key messages across campaigns.
- Support copy development across DTC, CRM, social, and other marketing channels as needed.
- Edit, proofread, and approve all creative copy for accuracy, tone, and alignment with brand standards.
REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years of experience in graphic design, art direction, and copywriting disciplines.
- University or College degree in Design, English, Journalism Marketing or a related field.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Animate).
- A strong eye for visual composition, typography, color, and branding.
- A proven track record of strategic creative leadership, with a portfolio showcasing concepting, storytelling, art direction, and design across integrated campaigns.
- Hands-on experience in art direction, visual production, and graphic design.
- Deep understanding of strategic outcomes and how to align creative ideas with company objectives
- You have a background working for DTC companies or other Beauty brands.
