Federated Insurance Underwriters customize solutions for our commercial clients when they need insurance products. They work closely with our Commercial Insurance Sales Agent to develop unique solutions for all classes of risk.  

Our Underwriters are passionate about maintaining strong relationships with our Commercial Insurance Sales Agents– this means emails and phone calls don't go unanswered, and they provide an excellent underwriting experience. They also pay attention to the smallest of details, work closely with our Actuarial, Risk Services, and Claims Departments, and have strong negotiating abilities.

You're great at: 

  • Commercial Underwriting

  • Sales & Negotiation

  • Time Management and Prioritization Skills

  • Risk Analysis and Management

You have:

  • Post-Secondary school education and/or equivalent job experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Commercial Underwriting experience

  • Broad knowledge and understanding of disciplines and pricing models

  • Working knowledge of MS Office

  • Experience leading or mentoring a team

  • Completed, or pursuing your CIP, FCIP, CRM or RPLU designations

  • Strong customer service background
