Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a cook. This role is ideal for someone passionate about the food industry, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and high-quality light meals. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, cooking, and food safety within a coffee and board game cafe environment. Candidates should be committed to maintaining cleanliness, adhering to food handling standards, and providing excellent customer service.

Duties

  • Serve customers efficiently and courteously, ensuring a positive dining experience
  • Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and presentation standards
  • Cook and plate light meals
  • Handle food safely by following proper storage, sanitation, and hygiene procedures
  • Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas throughout shifts
  • Follow all food safety regulations and company policies to ensure compliance with health standards
  • Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth restaurant operations. Flexibility to do some barista and customer service will also be required.

Skills

  • Previous experience in serving or food service roles is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
  • Ability to handle food safely and follow proper hygiene practices
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations and customer service principles
  • Experience with food handling equipment and kitchen tools is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for the food industry with a focus on quality and safety standards
  • Food Safe Certification
