K'en T'em Limited Partnership (KTLP) is a for-profit corporation committed to providing the Nlaka'pamux people of the eight Citxw Nlaka'pamux Assembly (CNA) Participating Bands with the resources that will help them efficiently create, manage and operate business opportunities. We are leaders at putting cross-cultural values at the forefront of our business while prioritizing simple, efficient, integrative solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients.
As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for technical support across K'en T'em Limited Partnership (KTLP), Citxw Nlaka'pamux Assembly (CNA), and the eight Participating Bands. You will play a key role in maintaining hardware, software, and network systems, supporting end-users, and ensuring our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and securely.
Primary Duties
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues across KTLP, KTLP owned businesses, CNA, and the eight Participating Bands,
- Respond promptly to support requests, diagnosing and resolving issues to minimize downtime,
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, and other IT-related equipment,
- Lead the management and maintenance of servers and networking infrastructure,
- Monitor system performance and security, implementing necessary updates and backups,
- Document technical processes, support resolutions, and user guides for training purposes,
- Maintain inventory of IT assets and assist in procurement and deployment of new equipment,
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager and team members to identify and implement improvements to IT systems and processes,
- Provide training and support to end-users to enhance their technical proficiency and usage of IT resources,
- Stay current with technological advancements and recommend tools and solutions that benefit KTLP and its partners, and
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint,
- Strong understanding of hardware, software, and networking fundamentals, including troubleshooting across multiple organizations,
- Ability to install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, servers, and networking equipment,
- Ability to follow IT security best practices, including maintaining system backups, updates, and data protection protocols,
- Strong communication and customer-service skills to support users with varying technical abilities,
- Strong organizational skills to document processes and maintain accurate IT asset inventory,
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion,
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and manage time effectively, and
- Willingness to learn beginner nłeʔkepmxcín, nłeʔkepmx cultural values and protocols while recognizing and respecting cultural diversity.
Experience and Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Support, or related field,
- 1-2 years of experience in IT support, and
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License and access to a reliable personal vehicle.
Work Environment
- Schedule: Monday through Friday between 8:30am and 4:30pm, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break, fluctuating when needed. On average, 35 hours per week,
- Overtime: All daily overtime over 8 hours will be banked at 1.5x, all hours over 12 will be banked at 2x,
- Reporting Office Location: Office work will be conducted from the K'en T'em office at 2025 Granite Ave, Merritt BC,
- Vacation: 2 weeks paid vacation (10 working days), accrued at 0.84 per month,
- Winter Break: 2 weeks paid (max 10 working days),
- Benefits: 50% benefit premiums paid by employer,
- Pension: Pension matching (percentage increasing with years of service), and
