About the Role
:
Havas Health Toronto is looking for an Account Manager to lead and manage client projects from start to finish. This role involves ensuring all deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard. The Account Manager will maintain proactive communication with both internal teams and clients, identify opportunities to grow existing business, mentor junior team members, and support new business pitches.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Management
(Weighting: 65%)
- Develop an in-depth understanding of assigned brands (including science behind drug and therapeutic) and brand strategy
- In collaboration with the Account Director, develop and execute an action plan for assigned brands
- Liaise with client, creative, digital, production and suppliers to ensure every project is executed on strategy, on budget and upon agreed timelines
- Foster a strong, collaborative relationship with creative, digital and production teams
- Lead the preparation of PAAB submissions and responses for branded promotional materials
- Ensure internal processes regarding agency workflow and financial reporting are followed - driving orderly and timely flow of work within the agency
- Monitor project financial reports and be proactive with clients (re-estimating if necessary) to ensure profitability targets are met
- Lead the preparation of project briefs, timelines and estimates for all projects initiated with client in a timely manner
- Ensure that we have a signed estimate or Purchase Order from the client before the bulk of the agency work is started
- Prepare contact reports based on client meetings (phone, in person) and forward to client within 24 hours
- Prepare monthly budget control reports and forward to finance in a timely manner
- Participate in annual internal brand reviews
- Accurately account for all hours in the Financial system as per company policy
2. Growing Existing Business
(Weighting: 15%)
- In collaboration with the Account Director, identify opportunities to grow existing brands via multiple promotional channels, including salesforce, digital, media, interactive, and other third-party offerings.
- Review client brand plan and make recommendations for promotional opportunities
- Challenge strategies, client direction, market research results, programs or ideas that are not aligned with the brand positioning or long term vision.
- Work closely with internal team to develop a strong sell story for promotional opportunities and support the delivery of the "pitch" to clients via presentation / written communication in a timely manner
3. Professional Development
(Weighting: 15%)
- Act as a mentor for team members (Account Executives, and Coordinators) in their professional development
- Assist the Client Services team in training new hires on processes, specific duties, etc.,
- Participate in professional development activities as agreed upon in the developmental plan created during the annual performance review - including regulatory knowledge and expertise
4. New Business
(Weighting: 5%)
- Support senior leaders in preparing presentations and collateral for pitches.
- Support research on diseases, therapeutic areas, and competitive landscapes.
Required Qualifications
:
- University degree, preferably in the area of health sciences
- 2+ years of agency experience in healthcare/pharma (account service experience preferred)
- Or 1+ year of client-side pharma marketing experience (Canada market)
- Must have experience working with PAAB and/or ASC
- Experience working across multiple channels (sales force promotion, digital, etc.) to deliver integrated solutions
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities
- Bilingualism is an asset
