Sturgeon Public Schools is seeking a Full-Time Temporary Specialized Programming Educational Assistant 3 for Sturgeon Composite High School.

Located just minutes north of Edmonton and St. Albert, Sturgeon Composite High School serves approximately 950 students in Grades 10–12. The school offers a wide range of programming, including academics, Career and Technology Studies (CTS), Knowledge & Employability (K&E), and Special Education. With a strong sense of community and a dedicated staff team, Sturgeon Composite prepares students for success through diverse programming and inclusive learning experiences.

This position will support students in Specialized Programming, providing both one-on-one and small-group assistance in inclusive classroom settings.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide individualized and group support under the direction of the classroom teacher
  • Assist students with diverse learning and behavioural needs in inclusive classroom environments
  • Implement positive behaviour support strategies and interventions
  • Support daily care routines including toileting, lifts/transfers, and tube feeding as required
  • Foster a safe, caring, and respectful learning environment
    Collaborate with teachers and support staff to promote student engagement and success

What You Bring

  • Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma/Certificate
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience supporting students with challenging behaviours
  • Formal training in Autism and Behaviour Support
  • CPR, First Aid, and TCIS certification
  • Knowledge and experience with special needs, alternate communication, and personal care routines
  • Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Equivalent combinations of education and a minimum of 5 years' related experience as an EA2/EA3 may be considered
