Position Overview

We are looking for reliable and hardworking Shovelling and Labourer team members to assist with snow and ice management throughout the winter season. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role suited for individuals who take pride in working outdoors and contributing to a professional, safety-focused operation. Labourers are responsible for clearing snow from walkways, entrances, stairs, and other areas inaccessible to equipment, as well as applying salt or other ice-control products as required. Team members may work independently or as part of a crew, depending on site size and conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Shovel snow and clear walkways, steps, ramps, and entrances on assigned properties.
  • Apply salt or other ice-melt products in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
  • Use hand tools, pushers, and snow blowers safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain communication with dispatch and site supervisors throughout shifts.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to complete tasks within required timelines.
  • Follow all company safety policies, including wearing proper clothing and personal protective equipment.
  • Arrive on time and prepared for varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic and reliability are essential.
  • Previous experience in snow removal or outdoor labour is an asset but not required.
  • Physically capable of lifting, shovelling, and working for extended periods in cold weather.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays, as required during snow events.
  • Comfortable using smartphone-based communication apps (training provided).
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work sites.

Compensation and Growth Opportunities

  • $24.00 per hour, paid bi-weekly.
  • Seasonal bonus incentive for strong attendance and performance.
  • Typical shifts are approximately 12 hours during snow events.
  • Opportunities for advancement to equipment operator or crew leader roles for dependable team members.
