Our client, a major contributor in the agriculture sector, is looking for a
Payroll Specialist
to join their team in
Leamington, Ontario
. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely processing of payroll across all company locations in both Canada and the U.S.

What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Accurately process payroll for Canadian and U.S. locations.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian payroll legislation and U.S. payroll regulations.
- Prepare and submit government filings.
- Complete payroll-related journal entries.
- Assist in streamlining and improving payroll systems for both Canada and the U.S.
- Administer and distribute employee payment statements (electronic or paper).
- Coordinate employee benefits administration.
- Manage paid time off (PTO) tracking and reporting.
- Generate reports on total hours worked, overtime, and missing punches.
- Respond promptly to employee inquiries related to payroll.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to resolve payroll-related concerns.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, or other related fields.
- 2+ years of experience in payroll processing or payroll management.
- Previous experience handling payroll across multiple locations/geographies.
- Demonstrated experience with Canadian and U.S. payroll legislation.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll best practices.
- Proficiency in Sage, ADP, and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Complimentary Experience:
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designations would be considered a strong asset.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
