THE ROLE

Reporting to the Store Accounting Manager, the Supervisor will be responsible for leading and coordinating accounting activities related to daily store information, audits, and any other accounting aspects of the stores. This strategic position involves managing a team, handling complex files, and actively contributing to continuous process improvement while ensuring compliance with internal controls (SOX).

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Supervise, support, and develop a team of store accounting analysts.

• Ensure smooth execution of period-end and year-end processes.

• Periodically:

  • Analyze abnormal inventory variances and cash issues presented in the P&L or balance sheets and make necessary adjustments.

  • Review various operating expense accounts and calculate required accruals.

  • Validate store sales and analyze profit margins by category.

  • Prepare and communicate key highlights related to the consolidated operational income statement for the division.

  • Ensure deadlines are met and required controls are executed.

  • Perform and approve analyses of various balance sheet accounts.

  • Apply internal controls rigorously in compliance with SOX standards.

• Handle complex files and special projects.

• Ensure communication, documentation, and training of team members when introducing new policies, procedures, or system changes related to store accounting.

• Respond to requests from regional directors, territory and store managers, and administrative staff based on their needs.

• Actively participate in the continuous improvement of accounting and operational processes.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Experience:

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting.

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience supervising a team.

Knowledge and skills:

• Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite.

• Detail-oriented, autonomous, proactive, and strong analytical skills.

• Ability to manage priorities while meeting deadlines.

Language skills:

• Bilingualism required (Advanced French and English) both spoken and written, as the person will be required to work and communicate regularly in English while performing the tasks outlined above. Specifically, the role requires collaboration with global teams.
