We are currently looking for a child and youth worker to assist in supervising 3 male youth/adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and developmental delays ranging from 14 years old - 21 years of age.

Duties include but are not limited to

Taking them to extracurricular activities in the community.

Creating educational programming for the adult in the home.

Teaching life skills.

Light cleaning duties as requested by foster parents.

Drives to medical appointments.

Drives to access visits with natural family.

Participating in plan of care meetings as needed.

Qualifications

Preference will be given to individuals with a Child and Youth Worker diploma, Social Service Worker diploma, Personal Support Work certificate or with a diploma/degree within a relevant field.

Must have availability weekends.

Must be reliable.

Must be skilled in behaviour management.

Must have access to reliable transportation and a valid license.

Job Summary

There are approximately 60 hours available per month, with potential for more hours. Hours are dependent on the needs of the home and are not guaranteed. Hours will be scheduled in collaboration between foster parents and staff. Hours can be flexible, making this is a good position for individuals with other commitments as well such as post-secondary school.

The position is in-person and the foster home is located in Kendal, ON (Clarington region).
