Job Summary:

Job Summary:  Psychosocial Oncology, within the Hope and Healing Program, consists of a team of clinical counsellors, social workers and a child life specialist. Psychosocial Oncology Clinicians provide assessment, counselling services, resources and support groups for patients and families of CancerCare Manitoba. The incumbent's primary site is the MacCharles site (675 McDermot Ave.). Clinical assignments may be at other CCMB sites to provide coverage, if needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work (BSW) from a Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE) accredited school/faculty, or a Provincially authorized post-secondary program, or the approved equivalent if internationally educatedA clinical internship/ field placement from an accredited programMinimum of three years of clinical counselling/consultation experienceRegistration or eligibility for registration by an appropriate licensing bodyExperience with building relationships and working in collaborative partnershipsStrong interpersonal and written communication skillsStrong problem solving, critical thinking, organizational skillsProficiency with MS Office; Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPointMust hold a satisfactory employment recordMust be legally able to work in Canada

Preferred:

Clinical counselling/consultation experience in a healthcare environmentMasters Degree in Social Work or other counselling related disciplineAbility to speak French
