As Payroll Specialist, a typical day might include the following:

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll for both salaried and hourly employees for 2 dealership stores
• Handle all employee payroll-related inquiries with professionalism and efficiency
• Process monthly bonus and commission payments
• Prepare and file year-end payroll documentation, including T4, T4A, T5, T5018, and other required forms
• Reconcile payrolls in alignment with the year-end calendar
• Calculate and submit WSIB remittances within established deadlines
• Administer garnishment orders, Employment Insurance (EI) claims, and correspondence with government agencies
• Prepare and issue Records of Employment (ROEs) as needed
• Coordinate timely and accurate enrollment and updates to employee benefit plans
• Support the onboarding process for new hires
• Prepare and calculate year end EHT and WSIB reconciliations
• Review update and reconcile all benefits costs
• Administer group benefit plan
• Post all payrolls and payroll accruals
• Provide general support to the accounting team across a range of tasks
• Perform other related duties as assigned

This job might be right for you if:

• Minimum of five years of relevant experience
• Proficient in Reynolds and ADP Workforce software
• Prior experience working in an automotive dealership environment
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Payroll, or a related field
• Solid understanding of Employment Standards Act (ESA) regulations
• PCP designation required
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including , Excel, and Word
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and solve problems effectively
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
