THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Site Superintendent will provide leadership, overseeing and coordinating all site construction activities, while supervising all trades and field personnel as required to successfully complete the projects on schedule and within budget. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest quality, while administering sound construction practices with all on-site activities. The Site Superintendent also maintains the job site administration and closes out projects. This position represents and promotes the company and its core values with honesty and integrity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Given the pivotal role this individual will be expected to play in achieving the strategic objectives of the company and in supporting the success of the organization, it is essential that the successful candidate possess the following core competencies, experience, and attributes:
Safety Management
- Confidently leads and owns all aspects of site safety.

Quality Management
- Maintains strong awareness and attention to detail, consistently identifying quality issues that should be obvious at the site level.
- Reviews all scopes of work to ensure they meet appropriate quality standards for the specific project.
- Assesses workmanship (e.g., painting, drywalling) and immediately recognizes whether it meets expected quality levels.
- Understands varying quality requirements per job and ensures execution aligns with those expectations.
- Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset, learning from mistakes and striving to elevate quality with every project.
- Drives the team toward excellence, focusing on the incremental improvements that differentiate good from great.
Client Experience
- Recognizes key moments when they are "on stage" and must positively represent the company to clients.

Cost Controls

- Maintains full awareness of contract terms and ensures all decisions align with contractual obligations.
- Applies critical thinking to cost-related decisions, understanding cause and effect before taking action.
- Communicates proactively to avoid surprises and ensures transparency across the team and stakeholders.
- Works collaboratively rather than in a silo, ensuring financial impacts and risks are clearly discussed and understood.
Project Scheduling
- Takes full ownership of the project schedule—creating, managing, coordinating, and communicating all scheduling requirements.
- Drives the project to completion on time, ensuring all milestones are met and proactively addressing any risks to timelines.
- Accurately reverse-engineers schedules to determine required timelines, sequencing, and resource needs.
- Utilizes Microsoft Project effectively; proficiency with this tool is a strong asset.
- Maintains basic Microsoft Office skills and demonstrates solid general IT capabilities to support scheduling and coordination.
Technical Knowledge

- Coordinates day-to-day site activities, including trade scheduling and on-site logistics.
- Confirms appropriate supervision is consistently in place to maintain safety, productivity, and operational control.

THE INDIVIDUAL

Education
- Journeyman Certificate in a relevant trade.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience supervising construction job sites.
- Demonstrated leadership in safety excellence.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license.
- Current First Aid certification.
