We're seeking an
Executive Director
who can lead nationally, think strategically, and help shape a modern, productive, and future-ready construction labour force.

About BuildForce Canada

BuildForce Canada is a national, industry-led organization dedicated to strengthening the construction and maintenance workforce. We collaborate with contractors, unions, owners, educators, and governments to identify labour market trends, modernize training, advance productivity, and support Canadians pursuing careers in construction. Our mission is simple: ensure Canada has the skilled workforce it needs to build the future.

Why This Role Matters

Canada's construction industry is transforming—driven by new technologies, major infrastructure demands, and a shifting workforce.

The Opportunity

As Executive Director, you will be the strategic leader driving BuildForce Canada's national labour market vision, training innovation, and stakeholder collaboration. You'll guide programs, research, partnerships, and tools that directly influence workforce capacity across the country.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Workforce & Labour Market Leadership

  • Lead long-term strategy for Canada's construction labour market development.
  • Guide research and analysis on labour supply/demand trends.
  • Align BuildForce programs with industry priorities and evolving workforce needs.

2. Training & Program Innovation

  • Modernize training initiatives to reflect new technologies and industry best practices.
  • Expand digital learning and advanced training modalities.
  • Strengthen workforce productivity through innovative tools and resources.

3. Stakeholder Collaboration & Partnerships

  • Build strong national partnerships across industry, labour, government, and education.
  • Drive collaboration on skills shortages, apprenticeships, and workforce mobility.
  • Represent BuildForce at industry forums and government consultations.
  • Provide labour market tools partners can integrate into their own initiatives.

4. Human Resource Tools & Industry Best Practices

  • Lead HR-focused programs that support recruitment, retention, and performance.
  • Oversee tools that help employers modernize workforce management.
  • Promote BuildForce's leading research, data, and workforce resources.

5. Support for Job Seekers & Career Pathways

  • Guide initiatives that help Canadians explore and enter construction careers.
  • Enhance labour market dashboards, career resources, and training pathways.
  • Champion inclusive, diverse, and future-ready workforce development.

6. Organizational Leadership & Operations

  • Lead a high-performing national team with a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Oversee budgets, funding strategies, reporting, and impact measurement.
  • Ensure strong governance and coordinated program delivery across Canada.

Be the Voice That Shapes Canada's Construction Workforce

If you're a visionary leader with a passion for workforce development, industry innovation, and national impact, this is your opportunity to help build the future of Canada's construction sector.

Interested candidates should submit their resume and cover letter to Lynda Naveda at
