Millwright





Ideal Gear & Machine Works Inc., a division of Boundary Mining Group is hiring for a Millwright or Maintenance Mechanic to support the ongoing work in our gearbox manufacturing shop. 

Reporting
to the Shop Supervisor, the Millwright is responsible for the installing,
maintaining, upgrading, and fabricating of machinery and equipment according to
requirements.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical
    equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on all
    production equipment.
  • Assists in preparing work schedules and
    determining materials and equipment required.
  • Assists in providing estimates for materials,
    equipment, and cost.
  • Ability to follow diagrams, sketches,
    operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering
    specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Ability to maintain a variety of detailed and
    accurate records.
  • Knowledge of methods, techniques, hand/power
    tools, and equipment used in the plant maintenance.
  • Ensure safety regulations are met.
  • Undertaking any other duties appropriate to
    the post objectives as required by management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Millwright red seal certification is preferred;
    experience or 3rd year apprentices may be considered.
  • 3+ years of technician experience working in a
    manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Experience in a gear manufacturing shop is
    considered an asset.
  • Fundamental understanding of the repair and
    testing of all types of gearboxes and mechanical components.
  • Experience in system troubleshooting.
  • Able to read and understand engineering
    drawings and schematics.

    skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to work in
    a team environment.
  • Dependable and consistent in attendance,
    quality, and productivity.

Working
Conditions:

  • General manufacturing shop specializing in gearboxes.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring high
    attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
