Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Skip Tracer to join our financial services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for locating individuals with overdue accounts, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding debts, and maintaining accurate records. This role requires excellent analysis skills, strong customer service abilities, and proficiency with accounting software. The Skip Tracer plays a vital part in our efforts to recover assets efficiently while maintaining professional communication with clients and debtors.
Duties
- Conduct thorough research to locate individuals using various data sources and analysis techniques
- Contact debtors via phone, email, or other communication channels while demonstrating professional phone etiquette
- Negotiate repayment plans and settlements with debtors to facilitate account resolution
- Perform account reconciliation and account analysis to verify debtor information and outstanding balances
- Maintain detailed records of all skip tracing activities in our accounting software system
- Collaborate with the accounts receivable and accounts payable teams to ensure accurate account management
- Assist with data entry related to debtor information, payment histories, and case notes
- Analyze debtor data to identify trends or issues affecting collections efforts
- Provide regular updates on skip tracing progress to management and relevant departments
Requirements
- Prior experience or knowledge in accounting, accounts receivable, or accounts payable is preferred
- Familiarity with accounting software and data entry processes
- Strong analysis skills and attention to detail for effective account reconciliation and account analysis
- Excellent negotiation skills combined with professional customer service and phone etiquette
- Basic math skills necessary for financial calculations and assessment of debtor information
- Ability to perform thorough research using various data sources and online tools
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Ability to work independently while adhering to company policies and procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in finance or related fields is a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $42,000.00-$48,000.00 per year
