About the Role

As our Payroll Specialist in our Vancouver office, you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing. The ideal candidate brings expertise with ADP systems (especially Workforce Now), strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of payroll compliance.

You'll play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll, employee expenses, and while supporting financial reconciliations and reporting.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Payroll:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Manage employee timesheet submissions and approvals; resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Prepare and post payroll journal entries with correct departmental/project coding.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts, ensuring accuracy of wages, benefits, and tax data.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including deductions, garnishments, bonuses, and adjustments.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees, including questions on taxes, and time tracking.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate onboarding and offboarding payroll data.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial and local payroll and tax regulations.
  • Generate payroll reports and analytics for internal use.

Employee Expenses:

  • Review and process employee expense reports in line with company policy.
  • Ensure proper approval and accurate coding of expenses to projects or departments.
  • Post and reconcile expense entries in the accounting system.

Our Must Haves:

  • Minimum 3 Years of experience in payroll processing with at least 2 years using ADP Systems.
  • Experience working in a time-tracking and job-costing environment.
  • Familiarity with Deltek, Unanet, or similar ERP systems for engineering/consulting firms.
  • Solid understanding of payroll regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Compensation: $60,000 -70,000
