Who we're looking for:
Rogers Communications is seeking a RB Middleware API Technical Delivery Lead – you will be working on Integration projects for "Rogers Business" (RB) division ensuring the APIs are delivered on time within budget and with good quality. Reporting into a Sr. Development Manager, you will be accountable and responsible for delivering the right and cost-effective API solution to our Business partners.
What you'll do:
- Design, Develop and design review for the API team of Rogers.
- Contribute as a design expert on the API development
- Accountable for Integration team's (API team) design, codebase, environment and software. The role includes accountabilities of both the new development and Operational support. (Practising Dev Ops)
- Work with various IT teams, e.g., QA, other development teams, IT PMs to develop realistic IT solution
- Ensure code and designs are in compliance with specifications and best practices
- Prepare and produce releases of software components
- Works with stakeholders and develop aggressive yet achievable roadmaps.
- Promotes quality, innovation, teamwork, and timely communication of issues / opportunities.
- Hands on Java API Development Experience
- Teamwork capabilities: Customer Service Orientation, Teamwork and Collaboration, Adaptability.
- Takes ownership of the software developed.
- Supports continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review
- Effective communicator both oral and written, with the ability to frame technology issues in business terms.
What you bring:
- Must Have - At least 4 years of hands on development experience on Java Springboot framework.
- Must Have - Robust knowledge of API Design best practices and Architectural concepts.
- Must Have - Experience with Azure API Management or a similar tool,
- Must Have - Experience with Azure Kubernetes or a similar tool
- Must Have - Experience with Github
- Good Knowledge of Databases and SQL
- Bachelor's in computer science, Engineering or equivalent field preferred.
- Nice to Have - Hands on experience in setting up CI/CD pipeline in a Devops environment (Using tools like Jenkins or Azure Devops)
- Nice to have – Experience of Working in Agile methodology
- Nice to Have – Experience with Cradle, Dynatrace or similar tools
- Nice to have - General understanding of Rogers overall business and practices
- Excellent Written, Verbal and presentation skills
