Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that engage and support youth, particularly those with traumatized youth. This role requires a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where all children can thrive. The Youth Coordinator will work closely with children, families, and community partners to create enriching experiences that promote personal growth and development.
Duties
- Design and facilitate engaging activities and programs for youth, ensuring inclusivity for participants with high behaviours.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and community organizations to identify the needs of youth and develop appropriate programming.
- Provide direct support and mentorship to children during activities, fostering a safe and positive environment.
- Monitor participant progress and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement in program effectiveness.
- Organize events, workshops, and outings that encourage social interaction, skill development, and teamwork among participants.
- Maintain accurate records of program participation and outcomes, reporting on progress to stakeholders as needed.
- Advocate for the needs of youth with disabilities within the community, promoting awareness and understanding.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings is essential.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to engage diverse groups of youth effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact positively with children, families, and community partners.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative in program development.
