About the Role

We're seeking a fully licensed Hair Stylist/Hairdresser (2-year program or more; Red Seal needed) to act as our on-site supervisor for hair/scalp services within our nail & spa environment. You'll oversee a safe, relaxing, and compliant shampoo experience (e.g., scalp massage, product selection, hygienic standards) and serve as the go-to professional for client care and service quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day hair/scalp services (shampooing, scalp massage, basic finishing as applicable).
  • Uphold standards for sanitation, product handling, and client safety; coach team members on best practices.
  • Advise on hair/scalp product selection (including sensitivities, contraindications, and aftercare).
  • Support service flow: station readiness, timing, client hand-offs, and customer satisfaction.
  • Quality assurance: monitor outcomes, address issues, and document improvements.
  • Compliance: follow provincial/municipal health and trade requirements.

Qualifications

  • Full hairstylist/hairdresser license (2+ years formal training). Red Seal endorsement an asset.
  • Experience with shampooing & scalp-massage protocols and client comfort techniques.
  • Strong communication, professionalism, and attention to hygiene/health standards.
  • Calm, supportive leadership style; able to supervise and mentor teammates.
  • Weekend or evening availability is an asset (but not required).

Compensation & Tips

  • Hourly Base Pay for all scheduled hours.
  • Commission: When your service revenue exceeds your equivalent hourly base for the shift, you earn commission on the excess (structure to be finalized with you).
  • Tips: You keep 100% of your tips.
  • Status: Part-time with flexible, self-selected working days.

Example (for clarity—adjust to your policy): If your base is $X/hour and in a 5-hour shift you generate $Y in eligible service revenue, any amount above 5×$X is commissionable at Z%.Perks
