Aston Carter's client in Calgary is seeking a Buyer for a 10-month term position in our Supply Chain Management team. The successful candidate will develop purchase orders, support the management of master data, and collaborate with various teams in the business. This contract position is based in Calgary.

Job Responsibilities:

• Convert purchase requisitions to purchase orders in SAP Fiori and manage the purchase order lifecycle through to PO closure
• Execute sourcing events in Ariba as required
• Create blanket purchase orders based on contracts that are created by the Supply Chain Management team
• Assist stakeholders with SAP and supply chain processes
• Work with our Engineering Procurement Construction Management (EPCM) firms to fulfill orders
• Work with suppliers and business stakeholders resolve issues related to order fulfillment, delays, or discrepancies

Job Qualifications:

• Large ERP experience (SAP, Oracle)
• Minimum 3 years of buying experience in addition to sourcing and purchasing services and materials
• Working experience with PO's, understanding the life cycle from creation to close
• Intermediate Excel skills: Pivot tables

Assets For The Job:

• SAP, OpenInvoice, Ariba Guided Sourcing
• Oil & gas or energy sector industry experience
• SCMP designation
• Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Commerce or a related field

Soft Skills:

• Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills are essential, with the ability to build and maintain relationships
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and project management skills; Must be able to balance multiple priorities and be comfortable working with ambiguity
• Ability to identify needs and develop initiatives to drive performance improvements
• Problem solving attitude
• Comfortable working independently

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $ $33.65/hr.
