Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst / Controller to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO/CFO, this individual will oversee all aspects of financial management, reporting, and analysis across the group. The ideal candidate is a mid-career finance professional with experience in hospitality and real estate, who can operate both strategically and tactically — from underwriting investments and lender relations to managing compliance and reporting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and consolidation of 
    monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
     for all corporate and property-level entities.
  • Ensure all 
    financial reporting deadlines
     are met for internal stakeholders, lenders, and partners.
  • Oversee 
    corporate accounting

    cash flow management

    treasury
    , and 
    capital allocation
    .
  • Liaise directly with 
    lenders, financial institutions, and investors
     to manage loan covenants, compliance certificates, and financing documentation.
  • Manage 
    CRA compliance

    HST filings

    tax reporting
    , and coordinate with external auditors and accounting firms.
  • Develop and maintain detailed 
    financial models
     for new acquisitions, developments, and ongoing asset performance.
  • Conduct 
    real estate underwriting
     and 
    investment analysis
    , including sensitivity testing, valuation, and ROI projections.
  • Lead the annual 
    budgeting and forecasting process
     across multiple hospitality and real estate entities.
  • Support leadership with 
    strategic planning

    capital structure optimization
    , and 
    financial decision-making
    .
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA, CFA, or MBA designation preferred).
  • 7–15 years
     of progressive experience in 
    finance, accounting, or asset management
    .
  • Direct experience in 
    hotel or hospitality finance
     is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in 
    real estate underwriting
     and 
    financial modeling
    .
  • Strong understanding of 
    Canadian tax

    CRA compliance
    , and 
    HST reporting
    .
  • Proven ability to manage 
    lender relationships
     and 
    multi-entity financial reporting
    .
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
