Custom Fabrication Shop Foreman Required.

Preferred candidates would have minimum 5 years of Custom Fabrication Experience and 3-5 years Supervisory Experience

Duties

· Ensure all workers and visitors to the fabrication shop follow the company safety rules at all times. IE, PPE, equipment use, etc.

· Foreman's shift to begin ½ hour before workers start and ½ hour after workers end of shift. Regular day shift is 7am-3:30pm M-F.

· Supervision of 8-15 fitters, welders, saw operators, machine operators, paint shop, deliveries and shipping, etc.

· Monitoring workers start and finish time, following the fabrication shops' hours of business.

· Delegation of projects as directed by office personnel.

· Clearly explain details of each project to the delegated worker to ensure timely completion and minimal mistakes.

· Ensuring (along with the QC department) that all processed components, fit ups, welding, etc. are checked for compliance with shop drawings and specs.

· Collection of timesheets at end of each day and inputting data into job sheets. Training provided for this activity.

· Tracking of hours and material used for time and material jobs.

· Stock racks inventory control for most commonly used materials.

· When and where required the shop foreman will be required to assist in working on the fabrication shop floor to complete jobs on time.

Expectations/Requirements

· Overtime will be periodically required. If shop workers are working overtime, the Shop Foreman will be required to work.

· Experience with overhead cranes, steel cutting saws, ironworkers, mag drills etc. is a requirement. In house training on our machinery is mandatory before using.

· Experience with brakes, shears and plasma machines would be an asset. Training on our in house equipment will be provided. Applicants with prior experience with these machines will be given priority.

· Must have own reliable transportation.

· Preferred applicants will live within 1hr of Cambridge Ontario.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37.00-$42.00 per hour
