Role Description

We are seeking an experienced
BizTalk Integration Developer
to join a Systems Integration Services team supporting enterprise and healthcare integration initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, developing, testing, documenting, and deploying integration solutions—primarily
HL7 v2.x
—using
Microsoft BizTalk Server
.

You will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and project managers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and standards-based integration solutions within a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, document, and deploy
    HL7 v2.x integration solutions
    using Microsoft BizTalk Server
  • Develop and support
    non-HL7 integrations
    as required
  • Configure and maintain integration applications within the
    provincial BizTalk Integration Engine
  • Collaborate with business teams, project managers, and technical stakeholders to ensure successful solution delivery
  • Complete assigned development and maintenance activities, including: Service requests, Releases, Incidents and problem resolution
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and performance-tune integrations and environments to maintain high system availability
  • Work directly with end users and stakeholders to define requirements and present integration solutions
  • Guide integration development using
    BizTalk and related technologies
    to meet business needs
  • Manage technical scope and client expectations
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise Systems Integration standards and practices
  • Produce high-quality solution documentation using established templates
  • Conduct solution reviews and perform
    knowledge transfer
    to internal integration teams

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • University degree in
    Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline
    , or a recognized IT certification/college diploma (equivalent experience considered)
  • Minimum 5 years
    of overall IM/IT experience
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience
    developing
    HL7 v2.x interfaces using Microsoft BizTalk Server (2013 or newer)
    in a
    clinical healthcare setting
  • Excellent
    written and verbal communication skills
    in English

  • Strong experience with

  • Experience integrating clinical systems using HL7 to support patient care, diagnostics, pharmacy, lab, radiology, and clinical documentation workflows
  • Proven ability to work with
    business and technical SMEs
    for: Requirements elicitation, Process analysis and definition
  • Solution validation
  • Solid experience in
    integration architecture, analysis, and decision-making
    for both new and existing solutions
  • Experience integrating
    SQL Server databases with Microsoft BizTalk Server
