About the Role:
The Financial Analyst will provide critical support to ClearSky's project finance function, helping to evaluate, model, and monitor financing structures for carbon projects worldwide. This role combines strong analytical and financial modeling skills with a passion for climate solutions and carbon markets. Working closely with the Head of Project Finance, the Analyst will contribute to capital structuring, investor engagement, and transaction execution across ClearSky's diverse portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain detailed financial models for carbon and climate projects, incorporating debt, equity, and blended finance structures.
- Support transaction execution by preparing investor presentations, credit memos, and due diligence materials.
- Conduct market research on financing trends, cost of capital, and emerging structures in carbon and renewable markets.
- Assist in evaluating risk/return profiles and sensitivity analyses for different financing strategies.
- Support ongoing monitoring and reporting for financed projects, including compliance with investor and registry requirements.
- Work closely with origination, advisory, and monetization teams to ensure financing strategies align with project lifecycles.
Qualifications:
- 2 to 5 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, corporate finance, or a related field.
- Relevant education with analytical and modelling skills.
- Strong financial modeling skills (Excel, VBA, or equivalent); familiarity with valuation methods and sensitivity analysis.
- Exposure to renewable energy, natural capital, or carbon/climate projects is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, investor-ready materials.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Excellent written and spoken English (and Spanish if to be based in Madrid).
