Job Summary

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistance / Personal Support Worker (PAB/PSW) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals in various care settings. In this vital role, you will assist clients with daily activities, monitor their health and safety, and promote their independence and well-being. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure that each person receives personalized, respectful, and high-quality care in a safe environment. Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, reporting concerns promptly to healthcare professionals
  • Support medication administration following proper protocols and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations to maintain confidentiality
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area
  • Utilize mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts or resident's personal equipment to ensure safe transfers and prevent injury during heavy lifting tasks
  • Maintain detailed care plans by documenting patient progress, observations, and any incidents accurately and timely
  • Engage in patient-centered activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being within group home or assisted living environments

Skills

  • Proven experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care environments
  • Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
  • Certified in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and first aid; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance are highly valued
  • Ability to perform vital signs monitoring including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature accurately
  • Skilled in assisting with ADLs such as meal preparation, light cleaning, medication administration, and social support activities
  • Experience using mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or resident's personal equipment safely during transfers
  • Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with healthcare teams, residents' families, and other caregivers
