Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will support project activities including equipment installation, maintenance, commissioning, and troubleshooting. This role requires a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, practical understanding of PLC systems, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation, assembly, and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical components, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Support Managers in the execution of technical tasks
- Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Conduct testing and calibration of equipment to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and service records.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable safety standards, codes, and company procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar technical or project-based role (industrial, manufacturing, automation, or related field).
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting experience.
- Working knowledge and understanding of PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools (having your own tools is an asset).
- Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Valid Ontario driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
