Are you passionate about providing an exceptional customer experience by troubleshooting on the jobsite and maintaining a variety of Vermeer and other heavy equipment? We're looking for a self-starter who enjoys hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting.

What you will do

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures or malfunctions in the field to reduce customer downtime
  • Test repaired equipment for performance and reliability
  • Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on all customer equipment
  • Review factory service bulletins and other pertinent information to ensure equipment is up to date
  • Convey a professional presence, ensuring problems are tactfully explained and customer relations are satisfied

  • Prepare job estimates in accordance with work schedules and promised completion dates, effects necessary mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic repairs, as required
  • Maintain a familiarity with the practical operation of all equipment
  • Ensures Ministry of Transportation requirements are adhered to, including daily logs and trip inspections
  • Maintains and leaves all work areas clean, unobstructed, in a safe and orderly working condition
  • Adheres to all Company policies and procedures, with particular emphasis on Health and safety
  • Attends and participates in toolbox/safety meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for

  • Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Strong communication skills and desire to deliver an exceptional customer experience
  • Detail-orientated, consistently going above and beyond to deliver high-quality work
  • Strong hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience as a 3rd year Heavy Equipment Technician/Apprentice preferred
  • Previous experience with Vermeer, Cat, John Deere, Ditch Witch, Case and other Horizontal Drilling equipment is an asset
  • Valid driver's license. Class 3 or 5 preferred.

Travel

Significant travel throughout the territory is expected of this position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00-$48.00 per hour
